Internships and Research Fellows

Internship Program

ACUS seeks applicants for unpaid legal internships. Interns are exposed to a broad range of legal topics, with emphasis on administrative law and procedure. Interns directly assist ACUS attorneys with ongoing projects through legal research and writing, participation in various ACUS-sponsored events, and other substantive work. Interns are also encouraged to develop their independent research and writing skills, which are key factors in the selection process.

For spring and fall internships, current 2Ls and 3Ls are encouraged to apply; and for summer internships, rising 2Ls and 3Ls are encouraged to apply. Fall and spring internships are offered on both a full-time and part-time basis. Summer internships are full-time unless otherwise agreed upon. All internships require a minimum commitment of 8 weeks, 10 hours per week, and may be in-person, remote, or hybrid.

*We are currently at capacity for Summer 2024.

Application Process

Please submit a cover letter highlighting any relevant coursework and work experience, describing why you want to intern with ACUS, and identifying whether the application is for the spring, fall, and/or summer; a resume that includes law school GPA; an unofficial law school transcript; and a writing sample no more than 10 pages.
