Topic: Rulemaking 2.0: Technology and New Dimensions of Public Participation
Presenter: Cynthia Farina, Professor of Law, Cornell University
Professor Farina is a principal researcher in the Cornell e-Rulemaking Initiative (CeRI). For several years CeRI has been working with federal agencies, principally in the Department of Transportation to improve the quality of technology-supported rulemaking. CeRI's current project, "Regulation Room," is an experimental online public participation and learning platform that offered two live DOT rulemakings in 2010. Professor Farina will describe the initiative and speak about the future of technology and erulemaking and their impact on public participation in the rulemaking process.
