James Coughlan
Jim Coughlan was formerly senior vice president and general counsel at the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Prior to that, he was a partner in private practice, most recently at Holland & Knight LLP, where he focused on litigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). Jim has been recognized by Chambers Global and Chambers USA and by Crain's Chicago Business "Notable Gen X Leaders in Law in 2019." Previously, Jim was a senior staff attorney at the ITC, office legal counsel for the Hon. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and judicial law clerk for the Hon. Marion T. Bennett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Jim has a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Bradley University, a J.D. degree from DePaul University Law School and an LL.M. degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago Law School.
