At the July 14 meeting of the House Judiciary Committee, lawmakers agreed that the Administrative Conference saves taxpayer money and increases government efficiency in their respective statements:

"The principal way the Conference has proven itself to be a cost-saving bargain is that it works to improve agency performance and practices." - John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich)

"The Conference is uniquely positioned to generate many savings for very little cost.  Recommendations from the Conference will save taxpayer dollars by helping agencies work more efficiently." - Lamar Smith (R-Texas)

By unanimous voice vote, House Judiciary Committee approved H.R. 2480, a bill that reauthorizes the Administrative Conference through FY 2014. Administrative Conference supporters highlighted the millions of dollars in cost savings the agency provides to the government and tax-payers with very little investment, the expertise of its membership and the tremendous value in ACUS serving as an "honest broker" in addressing the current regulatory reform debate.
