Administrative Conference Announces Joint Initiative with American Bar Association to Publish Updated Federal Administrative Procedure Sourcebook

The Administrative Conference of the United States is pleased to announce a joint initiative with the Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice of the American Bar Association. Beginning in 2019, the Conference and the Section will publish on the Conference’s website a continuously updated electronic edition of The Federal Administrative Procedure Sourcebook. The last edition of which was published in print by the Section in 2016.

The Sourcebook is an annotated compilation of the key legal sources—including the Administrative Procedure Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Congressional Review Act, and executive orders—governing nearly every aspect of administrative procedure. Pending publication of the revised edition, the Conference will highlight on its website significant developments (e.g., statutory amendments, executive orders, and cases) since the publication of the 2016 edition.

“This online sourcebook will be an indispensable resource for Congress, the federal courts, government agencies, researchers, and especially the American public,” said Matthew L. Wiener, the Conference’s Vice Chairman and Executive Director. “It will provide, for the first time, free and easy access in one place to the statutory and regulatory law governing federal agencies.”

The Conferences thanks the Section—in particular, its chair, John Cooney; its director, Anne Kiefer; and the editors of the 2016 edition, William Funk and Jeff Lubbers—for helping to bring this initiative to fruition.
