President Trump Appoints Three New Members to the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States

Washington, D.C., July 24, 2020 - The White House announced today the President's intention to reappoint Ronald A. Cass, and appoint three new members, to the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS). The three new members are:

•    Jennifer B. Dickey  
•    Roger Thomas Severino  
•    Adrian Vermeule  

Upon the appointment of these new members, the Council will consist of:

•    Ronald A. Cass 
•    Jennifer B. Dickey  
•    Jeffrey M. Harris
•    Nicholas T. Matich IV
•    Donald F. McGahn II
•    Michael H. McGinley 
•    Matthew E. Morgan
•    Roger Thomas Severino  
•    Adrian Vermeule   
•    Matthew Lee Wiener*
*Acting Chairman and Vice Chairman

The Council is composed of the ACUS Chairman and 10 other members appointed by the President. (One is designated as the Vice Chairman.) Council members serve three-year terms and include government officials and private citizens with expertise in administrative law and public administration. 

The Council’s statutory duties include determining the agenda for ACUS’s semi-annual plenary sessions at which its members debate and vote on recommendations, receiving and considering reports and recommendations from ACUS committees, proposing bylaws to ACUS’s membership, reviewing budgetary matters, and approving the Chairman’s appointment of non-government members.
