Symposium on New Approaches to International Regulatory Cooperation

NYU Law School’s Institute for International Law & Justice and its Global Administrative Law Project will host a symposium on “New Approaches to International Regulatory Cooperation.”  As you will recall, ACUS issued Recommendation 2011-6 in December 2011, urging agencies to collaborate with their overseas counterparts in order to remove unnecessary barriers to trade.  The recommendation served as a major source of inspiration for Executive Order 13,609, and the Conference staff has worked with US and EU officials to explore regulatory cooperation issues associated with the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

ACUS Attorney Advisor Reeve Bull, who leads the Conference’s efforts related to international regulatory cooperation, will present a paper, along with other scholars in the field.  Registration information is available here. 

The symposium is co-sponsored by the Atlantic Council, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the ABA Section of Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice, and the papers will later be published in the journal of Law & Contemporary Problems (Spring 2015).
